About Larry

This is just a short excerpt for the about page.

1perfectsong.com is where I write about music. It’s where I write about the songs that I love, and the music that has played an important part in my life.

My name is Larry Glickman. I am the Director of Network Engagement and Collaboration for the Union for Reform Judaism, and I love music.

My first album was The Beatles, 1962-1966.

My first concert was Jackson Browne at Ravinia Park in Highland Park, IL. What was that strange smell in the air?

I saw Bo Diddley perform at a street festival in Northbrook, IL. I saw John Lee Hooker open for Los Lobos. I saw Dwight Yoakam open for the Violent Femmes.

I had 5th row seats for a solo, acoustic Bruce Springsteen show.

After collecting about 500 albums on CD, I finally subscribed to Apple Music, and now I have the history of recorded music at the touch of a button. I am a happy man.

At 40 years old, I began to play the guitar. I’m not very good, but I enjoy it, and I love taking lessons at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, IL.
